Four charged following northern suburbs pursuit

Four people have been charged following a pursuit through the northern suburbs on the weekend, Victoria Police say.

Two allegedly stolen vehicles travelling in convoy were spotted by police just before 11.30pm on Saturday night in Northcote.

A short time later they were again sighted by police on the Western Ring Road in Thomastown and a pursuit commenced.

One of the vehicles was subsequently dumped in Morwell Avenue, Bundoora and it’s believed the occupants of that car got into the second vehicle.

Police then managed to stop that vehicle on Hickford Street, Reservoir and four people ran from the car.

A number of police units, including the Dog Squad, searched the area and subsequently arrested two women, a teenage girl and a teenage boy.

A large quantity of what is believed to be the drug ICE was also located.

A 29-year-old Doreen woman, a 24-year-old Altona North woman, a 16-year-old Lalor girl and a 16-year-old Lalor boy were all charged overnight with theft of motor vehicle, traffic offences and drug offences.

The Doreen woman and the two teens were remanded in custody while the Altona North woman has been bailed to appear at court at a later date.
