Four men charged over the supply of 'ice' in south-west Sydney, NSW

Four men will face court today charged with the large commercial supply of ‘ice’ in Sydney’s south-west, NSW Police say.

Earlier this year, detectives from the State Crime Command’s Drug Squad established Strike Force Bratsell to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs in the Cabramatta area.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators detectives, with the assistance of the Public Order and Riot Squad and local police, executed seven search warrants at homes at Strathfield, Cabramatta, Canley Vale, Canley Heights, Camperdown, Smithfield and Bankstown, from 4.30pm yesterday.

During the warrants, police seized a large quantity of crystal methylamphetamine, gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL), drug paraphernalia, more than $50,000 cash, post parcels, mobile phones, electronic storage devices, and documentation.

A crime scene was established at the Bankstown home, which is suspected to have been used as a clandestine laboratory. Specialist officers from the Chemical Operations Team will examine the home later today.

Four men were arrested during the search warrants and taken to local police stations.

The 41-year-old Cabramatta man was charged with three counts of large commercial drug supply and indictable drug supply. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

The 36-year-old Camperdown man was charged with large commercial drug supply and five counts of indictable drug supply. He was refused bail to appear at Newtown Local Court today.

The 36-year-old Canley Vale man was charged with two counts of large commercial drug supply. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

The 53-year-old Bankstown man was charged with large commercial drug supply. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.

Inquiries are continuing.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to the supply of prohibited drugs to call Crime Stoppers.
