Four people arrested following investigation into Lidcombe crash, NSW

Three men and a woman have been arrested as part of an investigation into the circumstances surrounding a two-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south-west last year, NSW Police say.

About 8.45am on Monday 16 October 2017, police and emergency service were called to the intersection of Nicholas and Delhi Streets, Lidcombe, following reports of a collision between a Mercedes AMG and a Mitsubishi Outlander.

The driver of the Mercedes – a 31-year-old man – was freed by Fire & Rescue NSW officers and taken to Westmead Hospital, where he was treated and later released.

His passenger and the occupants of the Mitsubishi – two women, aged 31 and 32 – were not reported to have been injured during the incident.

Detectives from Flemington Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the collision under Strike Force Reppan.

Following extensive inquiries, Strike Force Reppan investigators arrested a 31-year-old man at a home at Vaucluse, and a 28-year-old man at a home at Lidcombe, just before 7am today (Tuesday 23 January 2018).

The men were taken to Waverley and Bankstown Police Stations respectively, where they will be charged with pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to cheat and defraud.

Shortly after, investigators arrested a 30-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman at a home at Lidcombe.

The pair have been taken to Auburn Police Station, where they are expected to be charged with conspiracy to cheat and defraud.

Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.

Police are urging anyone with information that may assist Strike Force Reppan investigators to call Crime Stoppers.
