Councillor Frank De Masi will serve as Deputy Mayor of The Hills Shire for a third consecutive term after being re-elected by his fellow Councillors at the 25 August Council meeting.
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne, congratulated Councillor De Masi on being re-elected by his peers unopposed and said she looked forward to continuing to work closely alongside him.
"Frank is a tireless advocate for our community and someone who genuinely cares about achieving the best outcomes for residents. I am delighted to continue working alongside him as we advocate for the services, facilities and infrastructure our growing community deserves," Mayor Byrne said.
"His re-election for a third consecutive term is a testament to the respect he has earned from his fellow Councillors and to the tireless work he performs on behalf of our community.
"Frank approaches every opportunity with enthusiasm and energy. Whether he's attending community events, supporting local initiatives or advocating for critical infrastructure, he throws himself wholeheartedly into everything he does."
Councillor De Masi said he was honoured and humbled by the support of his fellow Councillors.
"I thoroughly enjoy serving as Deputy Mayor and I am humbled by the support of my colleagues. I want the very best for our residents, and the role gives me the opportunity to add value and make a genuine difference in our community," Clr De Masi said.
"The success of this Council is built on teamwork, and I firmly believe that by working together, our Councillors and dedicated staff can continue to achieve great outcomes for our community.
"I would also like to thank my wife Clare and my family for their ongoing support and encouragement."
Councillor De Masi has been a Hills Shire resident for 29 years and has served on Council since 2017. He holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Human Resource Management, an Advanced Certificate in Management, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Councillor De Masi will continue in the role of Deputy Mayor until 13 September 2027.
