Kiama Council has a new Fraud and Corruption Control Policy which is currently on public exhibition.
This policy demonstrates Council's zero-tolerance approach to fraud and corruption.
Fraud and corruption are incompatible with our values and threaten our ability to serve our community in a cost effective, efficient and ethical manner.
This updated policy is designed to protect our revenue, expenditure, information and assets from any attempt to gain financial or other benefits by deceit.
It includes a Statement of Business Ethics.
The policy follows a comprehensive review, informed by the NSW Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
Council regularly provides mandatory training to staff on fraud and corruption.
The draft Fraud and Corruption Control Policy and Statement of Business Ethics are on public exhibition until Friday 27 June 2025.
