Fraud arrest at Gold Coast

Detectives have charged a 51-year-old man in relation to major fraud offences following a three-month investigation on the Gold Coast.

Around 7am this morning detectives executed a search warrant on a house at Hope Island where numerous computers, printers and telecommunications equipment were seized.

It will be alleged by police that the man was running a fraudulent finance brokerage company under the name Citi Private Capitol.

A 51-year-old Hope Island man has been charged with one count each of carrying on the business of committing fraud and disobeying a lawful order.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police investigations are ongoing and detectives are keen to speak to anyone who has had any dealings with that company.
