Free author talk with Heather Morris

Latrobe City Libraries is delighted to be hosting a Zoom presentation with Heather Morris, the author of the international best-selling novels, 'The Tattooist of Auschwitz' and 'Cilka's Journey' on Tuesday 9 February from 6.30pm.

Ms Morris will be in conversation with Claire Halliday discussing her new book, 'Stories of Hope'.

Listening was a skill that Heather utilised brilliantly when she met Holocaust survivor, Lale Sokolov, and the result was 'The Tattooist of Auschwitz' - a novel that has now sold more than 6,000,000 copies around the world. The sequel, 'Cilka's Journey', is another incredible story of survival against the odds.

In 'Stories of Hope', Heather reveals background into the inspirational real-life characters from her books, and also shares her tips and insights into how to be a better listener and find inspiration in everyday life, to ensure the amazing stories that happen around all of us are not lost and forgotten.

Latrobe City Council Mayor, Cr Sharon Gibson said the presentation was an exciting start for the library events calendar.

"We're delighted to host this event with such a high profile author. Heather Morris' first two novels saw her win a swathe of national and international awards. Our own library users kept them both on top ten lists for months. Moving from fiction to non-fiction will no doubt make Heather even more successful and attract new fans," Cr Gibson said.

"If you haven't read her works, they are available from the library in print, digital or audio formats. Why not catch up before you join the session?"

Heather is in conversation with Claire Halliday, a freelance journalist and author of 'Things My Mother Taught Me' and 'Things My Father Taught Me'. The event will be held

via Zoom. Tickets are available at Eventbrite https://latrobe-city-libraries-author-talk-freedom-circus.eventbrite.co…
