Free masks for small businesses in Tweed 28 June

Tweed Shire Council

Small businesses in the Tweed can pick up free face masks from distribution points in Tweed Heads and Murwillumbah tomorrow, Tuesday 29 June.

Council will be distributing masks at the request of NSW Health to ensure businesses can continue to operate over the next two weeks.

The distribution points will be open between 9 am and 12 noon on Tuesday (29 June) at Council's offices located at:

  • Murwillumbah Administration Office, 10-14 Tumbulgum Road, Murwillumbah; and
  • Tweed Heads Administration Office, corner Brett Street and Wharf Street, Tweed Heads.

Please maintain physical distancing when attending the distribution points and stay at home if feeling unwell. Council has a limited supply of masks for distribution.

This measure is in response to the NSW Government Public Health Order, announced over the weekend, which introduced new restrictions for all parts of NSW - including the Tweed.

It is now compulsory to wear masks in all indoor non-residential settings, including workplaces, and at organised outdoor events. Visitors to households are limited to 5 guests and the one person per 4 square metre rule has also been re-introduced for all indoor and outdoor settings, including weddings and funerals.

These restrictions will remain in place until 11.59pm on Friday 9 July.
