Further arrests over stabbing in Bexley

A man and a woman have been arrested today following investigations into an alleged malicious wounding of a man in Bexley earlier this month, NSW Police say.

About 5pm on Thursday 2 March 2017, a 24-year-old man attended a unit on Queen Victoria Street, Bexley. Two men known to the man arrived shortly afterwards and allegedly became involved in an altercation with him.

The man was allegedly punched in the head before he was stabbed in the arms, buttock and legs.

The injured man was taken to St George Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Detectives from St George Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations into the incident.

Just before 4.30pm today, investigators attended a hotel in Goulburn Street, Sydney, and executed a search warrant.

A 25-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested at the scene in relation to outstanding warrants (robbery with wounding for the man and breach of bail for the woman).

Officers also located several mobile phones, illicit drugs and cash which have been secured for forensic analysis.

Both were taken to Surry Hills Police Station where they were refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow.

This follows the arrest of a man and woman earlier this month.
