Further man charged over Wyong stabbing, inquiries continue

Another man has been charged by detectives investigating the stabbing of a shop owner at Wyong.

Emergency services were called to a store on Warner Avenue and Levitt Street, Wyong, about 9.25am on Tuesday (2 April 2019), and found a 41-year-old man suffering multiple stab wounds.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Royal North Shore where he underwent surgery that night; he is now reported to be in a stable condition.

Following inquiries by detectives from Tuggerah Lakes Police District, an 18-year-old man was arrested at a home in Green Point that night.

He was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm.

He was refused police bail and appeared in Wyong Local Court where he was granted conditional bail to appear at Gosford Local Court on Friday 31 May 2019.

Following further inquiries, police attended a home in Wyong on Wednesday (3 April 2019) and arrested a 17-year-old girl, taking her to Wyong Police Station where she was also charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/grievous bodily harm.

She was refused bail to appear at a children's court yesterday (Thursday 4 April 2019).

About 4.30pm yesterday (Thursday 4 April 2019), investigators attended a home on Watanobbi Road, Watanobbi, and arrested another 18-year-old man.

The man was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon cause wounding/GBH, and shoplifting.

He was refused bail to appear at Wyong Local Court today (Friday 5 April 2019).
