Locals are invited to join in a March from Town Square to Sturt Park on May 28 to celebrate National Reconciliation Week.
Reconciliation Week runs from 27 May to 3 June and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each person can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
The local event will feature a free BBQ, creative activities and cultural displays, and a 'Sea Of Hands' which allows attendees to plant a cardboard hand in the ground to create a colourful display in support of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the spirit of reconciliation.
The march will begin in Town Square at 11:30am, and motorists are advised that there will be disruptions to traffic in Chloride and Argent Streets as the march makes its way to the park.
