Gepps Cross - Drive-in theatre set alight , SA

Holden Hill Police are investigating a ram-raid and fire that has destroyed Adelaide's last remaining Drive-in theatre at Gepps Cross overnight, according to SA Police.

Just after 1.35am police and fire crews were called to the Main-Line Drive-in on Main North Road following reports of a building fire.

On arrival, the main building at the drive-in was well a light with numerous fire units attending to the blaze.

The fire was eventually brought under control with the incident being considered suspicious.

The drive-in building has been gutted by the fire - on investigation it has been established a car had been used to force entry into the building an ATM also stolen from inside.

Fire Cause Investigators are currently examining the scene determining how the fire started.

Then just before 2.30am Western Adelaide Patrols attended a car fire at Eastern parade at Ottoway - stolen 1996 Ford Courier had been set alight near a train line.

The stolen car was destroyed in the blaze. After the fire had been extinguished an ATM was found in the rear tray of the ute. The stolen car and ATM have been linked to the Gepps Cross drive-in break-in and fire.

Holden Hill and Western Adelaide Police are investigating the incidents and ask anyone with information on either the Gepps Cross fire or the dumping on the stolen car at Ottoway to please contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
