Shire residents have just days to nominate a local legend from their community for an Australia Day award.
Nominations for the Shire’s Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the year and Community Event of the Year awards will close on Monday 14 October.
Deputy Mayor Ruth Gstrein encouraged people to submit their nominations to recognise the great work being done by members of the community.
“A lot of people across the shire put in hour after hour, year after year to help make Corangamite such a great place to live,” Cr Gstrein said.
“They might be volunteers who run the clubs and organisations that bind our community together, or professionals following a calling to help others. If they have enriched your life, or the life of someone you know, this is your opportunity to let them know they’re appreciated.”
