Get into spirit of Halloween

Calling all ghosts, witches and monsters.

Are you ready for Halloween?

Baranduda Community Centre is inviting residents to visit the centre on weekdays between 9am to 2pm to collect an orange balloon to display on their letterbox, indicating kids are welcome to knock on the night of Halloween.

Get into the spirit of Halloween with a pop-up event at the centre on Thursday, October 31 from 5pm to 7pm.

If you don't have a costume, don't worry because there will be Halloween craft where you can make your own mask to wear trick or treating.

There will also be a sausage sizzle for $2.50, facepainting for a gold coin donation, lots of lollies and a colouring-in competition (winner gets a kids movie ticket).

Baranduda Community Centre Co-ordinator Stacey Harrison said Halloween was a great event to bring the community together.

"Kids like to hang out together and get dressed up and see what their mates look like all dressed up on Halloween," she said.

This will be the second year the centre has held the Halloween event after the centre's advisory committee came up with the idea last year.

"It was such a success last year and the kids loved using the centre as a bit of a hangout place for the night," Mrs Harrison said.

"We encourage all residents who wish to participate in trick or treating to display their orange balloon and show kids they are welcome to knock."
