Girl touched in shopping centre - Werribee

Detectives from Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for information after a teenage girl was inappropriately touched by a man at a shopping centre in Werribee last month, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told that a 16-year-old was walking with her mother through the centre about 1pm on Friday, 14 July.

The pair were on an escalator when a man ran up behind them, grabbed the girl on the backside, then ran off.

The man is described as being perceived to be of Asian appearance, tall with a slim build and possibly aged in his late teens.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark blue tracksuit with a light blue stripe up the side.

Detectives have released images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
