The 2025 Girls Leadership Program is off to a flying start, with 85 future leaders, captains, CEOs and changemakers all taking part in the first session at CitiPower Centre.
The four-session program, powered by the MCC Foundation and in collaboration with former Australian cricket Belinda Clark AO, offers girls aged 14-16 the unique opportunity to learn from industry experts across a variety of cricket roles.
The first session of the program introduced participants to the core definition of leadership and explored practical applications through tailored coaching scenarios.
The session also covered essential aspects of personal development for leaders, including performance preparation, lifestyle habits and an introduction to governance structures.
Belinda Clark AO said the Girls Leadership Program is all about creating opportunities for young cricketers to explore the many roles that can contribute to sport.
"It was amazing to start the 2025 Girls Leadership Program with over 80 girls who will, over the next few months, create a positive impact on their clubs. Cricket is in good hands."
"Having high quality presenters generously share their expertise with the participants ensured we started strongly.
"A big thank you to Sophie Reid, Sharon Lynas, Claire Versace, Lisa Cotton, Sophie Crockett and Penelope Cleghorn for their support of the program."
The Girls Leadership Program is proudly delivered by the Cricket Victoria Foundation in partnership with the MCC Foundation.
