Reports suggesting the cancellation of this much-loved event, published in the Herald Sun and shared on social media, are incorrect.
The Glenferrie Traders Association is yet to meet and decide on the future of the event. Council values this community festival as an important contributor to our community and hopes it will continue for years to come.
Council has consistently supported the Glenferrie Festival and remains committed to working closely with the Traders Association to ensure its success. This commitment was demonstrated in 2025 when Council covered all additional costs associated with new safety requirements under the Place of Public Entertainment (POPE) permit, ensuring both community safety and the viability of the event.
Looking ahead, Council is ready to work with event organisers on planning for the upcoming 2026 Glenferrie Festival. We want to see this much-loved event continue and will provide support as we have every year - but ultimately, the decision rests with the Glenferrie Traders Association.
