Glider pilot dies after crash in Boggabilla

Police are investigating after a man died following a a glider crash near the NSW-Queensland border, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were alerted after a glider crashed on a rural property at Boggabilla, 2.5km from the border, about 1.30pm today.

Police from Barwon Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance paramedics found the pilot – and sole occupant – had died at the scene.

The pilot is yet to be formally identified but he is believed to be aged 75 from Victoria.

A crime scene was established and an investigation is underway into the cause of the crash. Local police are working with the Aviation Support Branch and other agencies.
