Goals up - play ball, not player

Footy and soccer goals are being installed at Bayside sportsgrounds for kicking practice but any tackles, dangerous play or penalties constitute a red card under social distancing restrictions.

Essential exercise is permitted under Victorian COVID-19 Stage 3 restrictions, either individually, in family groups or with one other person so sportsgrounds/ovals can continue to be used. Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham is an exception to this rule and is now locked to prevent access.

Our Bayside sports clubs are currently having a playing hiatus with team sports on hold but that doesn't mean individual training or fitness has to stop.

Both Australian Rules football and soccer goals are being installed so they are ready to go when organised sport resumes. Getting in early means the ground is firm enough for our crane trucks to deliver and install the posts before winter rains.

So strike, bomb, torp and punt away, but please follow social distancing guidelines. No tackling - fair or otherwise please!
