Good Samaritan has wallet stolen after assisting after crash, NSW

Police are seeking public information after a good Samaritan had his wallet stolen after stopping and rendering assistance to people involved in a crash on the Central Coast, NSW Police say.

About 6.40am yesterday, emergency services were called to the Central Coast Highway, Woy Woy, after reports of a crash.

Police have been told a 62-year-old man driving past exited his vehicle to assist the occupants involved in the crash.

While assisting at the crash, a person entered the man’s unlocked vehicle and stole his wallet.

The man reported the matter to police when he noticed a number of fraudulent transactions made using his credit card.

Brisbane Water Local Area Command commenced inquiries into the matter.

As investigations continue, police are seeking any witnesses from the crash scene that noticed suspicious activity to come forward.
