Eurobodalla Council is inviting community groups, event organisers, and not-for-profits to check out the latest funding opportunities for strengthening the community.
The new Community Grants and Donations Policy was adopted by Council on 22 July, which will see local initiatives being supported through a mix of targeted Council grants and donations.
While grants go towards specific projects, donations provide flexible support for organisations. Together, the funding helps to keep the shire connected, improve facilities and services, and boost the local economy.
Mayor Mathew Hatcher says the benefits of Council's grants and donations go far beyond dollars.
"This is about empowering people who make Eurobodalla tick - our volunteers, our creatives, our event organisers, innovators and community champions," Mayor Hatcher says.
"Whether it's a local health project, a community festival, or a group going through a tough time, Council's support helps turn good ideas into real impact. It's about backing our community to do what they do best."
Applications for the following grants and donations open 1 September and close 30 September:
- Community Wellbeing Grant
- Community Events Grant
- Major Events Grant
- Iconic Events Grant
- Rates Assistance Donation
- Schools and Education Donation
The updated policy also outlines how the Council will continue to donate to not-for-profits and charities that contribute to the wellbeing of the Eurobodalla community. Donations may be financial or in-kind, such as venue hire, equipment use, or fee waivers.
As this opportunity only comes around once a year, Council will be contacting local event organisers, community and not-for-profit groups, business chambers and previous community grant recipients to advise that grants are open.
