Grants available to support Victoria's multicultural seniors' groups

DFFH

Applications for funding through the Multicultural Seniors Support program have opened. Multicultural seniors' groups across the state are encouraged to apply for grants to fund activities that strengthen community connections and support their members. Grants of $2,000 per year are available for up to four years.

The grants can be used to fund:

  • activities that increase social connection and preserve cultural traditions
  • running costs of the group
  • resources and equipment that benefit group members
  • training and support that increases digital and IT literacy and safety on the internet.

Online applications will be accepted from recently established organisations or from applicants who have not previously engaged with DFFH.

To qualify, applicants must be multicultural seniors' groups that support seniors from culturally, linguistically and religiously diverse backgrounds. Groups in metropolitan areas must have at least 20 members. Groups in regional Victoria, and new and emerging communities must have at least 15 members.

Webinars are available to help organisations develop projects and apply for funding.
