Community groups and not-for-profit organisations are encouraged to apply for funding as Southern Grampians Shire Council's Greater Grants Program opens on 1 July 2021. Council welcomes groups and individuals to apply through the grants program to help bring project or event ideas into action.

Grant applications officially open at 9:00am on 1 July 2021 and close at 4:00pm 30 July 2021.

Council's Greater Grants program allows eligible community groups to access up to $15,000 per financial year for initiatives, events and projects that directly benefit the Southern Grampians Shire. Applications for more than $2,500 must demonstrate cash or in-kind contributions and must provide evidence of cash held, or must be able to demonstrate their financial capacity.

Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Bruach Colliton said Council is proud to be able to provide support to a wide range of groups right across the Shire through the Greater Grants program.

"In the last round of Greater Grants, we were able to fund things like CPR training for volunteers of the Hamilton Running Club; a ride-on mower for the Hamilton Scout Group; security upgrades for the Victoria Lagoon Rec Reserve Committee, a WW2 cemetery plaque for the Dunkeld Museum and the Penshurst Photographic and Community event.
