Greater Shepparton Volunteer Recognition Awards nominations close soon

It has been a turbulent year with many new adversities being introduced due to COVID 19 restrictions. However, this has not stopped many Greater Shepparton residents contributing to the community with their support and effort.

The theme for National Volunteer Week 17 - 23 May 2021 is Recognise. Reconnect. Reimagine. By celebrating and thanking volunteers for all their contributions, by them giving their time willingly without financial gain.

"This is a wonderful way to celebrate and recognise the positive impact our volunteers have made within the Greater Shepparton community. The continued support of volunteers during COVID 19 highlights the commitment to providing support when it is needed most" Mayor, Councillor Kim O'Keeffe said.

"Applications are closing soon and I would encourage everyone to nominate a volunteer for the award. Awards will be presented at an Awards ceremony on Monday 17 May 2021"

There are four Award categories:

  • Young Volunteer: 12 to 25 years of age.
  • Adult Volunteer: 26 years of age and over.
  • Volunteer Team: A group of two or more people.
  • Long Serving Volunteer: 15 years or more service.
