Griffith City Council community grant program opens soon

Monday, 10 August 2020

The first round of Griffith City Council's Community Grant Program for the 2020/2021 financial year opens Monday 24 August 2020, with community groups, not-for-profit and charitable organisations or individuals encouraged to submit an application.

Applications are welcome for projects and activities which can demonstrate they will deliver new initiatives which align with Councils' Strategic Plan – Guiding Griffith 2040.

Chair of the Communities Committee, Councillor Dino Zappacosta said the Community Grant Program offers local organisations and individuals the opportunity to obtain funds to initiate new activities or support projects that benefit the community.

"I encourage those eligible groups to start working on their submissions," Councillor Zappacosta said.

Two free information sessions will be held at Griffith City Council, 1 Benerembah Street, on Wednesday 2 September, 12noon and Thursday 10 September at 5.30pm.

"We understand the application process can be daunting, particularly for those who are unfamiliar with grant writing," Community Development Coordinator, Peta Dummett said.

"These one hour information sessions will guide potential applicants through the process and explain how to complete the Community Grant submission. They will also provide advice to assist in strengthening your application.

"If you are considering applying in this round and would like to discuss your idea I would recommend you come along to one of the sessions.

The Community Grant Program will close Friday 2 October 2020 at 4pm.

Late applications will not be accepted. Application forms including the program guidelines can be found at www.griffith.nsw.gov.au/grants or by contacting Council's Community Development Coordinator on 6962 8100.
