The Albanese Government's focus on growing productivity across the Australian economy continued with today's Health, Disability and Ageing Economic Reform Roundtable in Sydney.
Hosted by Minister Butler with Minister McAllister, Assistant Minister McBride and Special Envoy Repacholi, the meeting brought together leaders from the care economy to discuss priorities for reform concentrating on boosting productivity, economic resilience and budget sustainability.
The health, disability and ageing sectors are essential to our economy because they shape our health, wellbeing and our way of life.
To drive economic prosperity, we must ensure the sector provides high quality care, delivered by workers with decent jobs, as well as unlock productivity growth.
Discussions at the roundtable focused on four topics: the care workforce, digital systems and AI, keeping Australians healthy through prevention, early intervention and better treatment, and how to best integrate the health, disability and ageing sectors.
Stakeholders insights will feed into the Government's Economic Reform Roundtable, led by Treasurer Jim Chalmers.
The Government thanks the participants for bringing their expertise, experience and ideas to this important event and the spirit in which everyone engaged in the reform process.
