Hard lesson for Learner driver

A teenage driver has had his Learner’s permit suspended and will face court after being detected drink driving without an accompanying driver this morning, Victoria Police say.

Geelong Police intercepted the 17-year-old driving a Holden sedan in Townsend Road Wittington about 1.30am.

The teen produced a positive Preliminary Breath Test and subsequently returned a reading of 0.078 at Geelong Police Station.

Learner drivers are required to have a 0.00 reading.

He is expected to be charged on summons to appear at the Geelong Magistrates Court for offences including exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, fail to have an experienced accompanying driver and failing to display ‘L’ plates.
