Bayside Council is proudly celebrating Harmony Week 2026 with a vibrant program of workshops and activities that pay tribute to the rich cultures and diverse communities that shape Bayside's unique identity.
Running from Monday 16 March to Friday 22 March, Harmony Week is a national celebration of Australia's cultural diversity and multiculturalism. It is a time to recognise the many backgrounds, languages and traditions that strengthen our community, while promoting respect, inclusion and a shared sense of belonging.
Bayside Council is committed to fostering an inclusive, cohesive and welcoming community where everyone feels valued and connected. Harmony Week provides an opportunity to come together, learn from one another and celebrate the stories that make our community so dynamic.
Throughout the week, Bayside's libraries will host special multilingual story time sessions for children, giving young readers the chance to hear some of their favourite stories shared in different languages. These engaging sessions will introduce children to new cultures, sounds and traditions in a fun and welcoming environment.
Adults can also take part in a series of cultural craft workshops held across Bayside libraries. These hands-on sessions will showcase traditional art forms and creative practices from around the world, offering participants the chance to learn new skills while connecting with others in the community.
Harmony Week 2026 promises to be a joyful celebration of culture, creativity and community spirit across Bayside.
