Harmony Week - Everyone Belongs

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Disability Services and Community Development

The Tasmanian majority Liberal Government is committed to fostering a cohesive and open society where differences in backgrounds, cultures and religions are valued and respected.

This Harmony Week we encourage all Tasmanains to celebrate the diverse, vibrant and inclusive communities, which make our state so special.

Now more than ever, welcoming and celebrating diversity in Tasmania is of utmost importance, as we all work together to manage the impacts of the coronavirus.

Harmony Week 2020 also coincides with Harmony Day, which is celebrated nationally on March 21, and provides us all with the opportunity to acknowledge Tasmania's success as a multicultural island.

Tasmania has a proud history of promoting unity, understanding and respect for all individuals and each day Tasmania benefits from the culture and experiences of the 61,000 Tasmanians born overseas.
