Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing boy Jake.
The 12-year-old was last seen in Altona Meadows about 4.30am yesterday.
Police hold concerns for Jake due to his young age.
An image of Jake has been released in the hope someone may recognise him and provide information on his current whereabouts.
Jake is described as approximately Caucasian in appearance, 165cm tall with a thin build, blonde hair and blue eyes.
He was last seen wearing black jumper, blue tracksuit pants and black Nike runners.
Anyone who sees Jake or with information is urged to contact Footscray Police Station on 8398 9800.
