Have you spotted any lost calves?

Acting on information received from the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries inspectors in the Emerald Springsure area, officers from the Rockhampton Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural)  conducted an investigation into suspected stealing of stock in the Springsure area, Queensland Police say.

On November 3 2018, officers executed a search warrant at a Springsure address and seized 20 head of Black Angus calves.

The calves are believed to be from a mob of cattle that had moved through the area along the stock route between July and September.

The owner of the calves was very appreciative to have the calves back, however believes there may be others in the area.

MOCS (Rural) officers are appealing for community members to come forward with any information regarding any calves in the Springsure area that may have come from this mob or any other mob of cattle that has moved through the area along the stock route.

Anyone with information can contact Springsure Police or Rockhampton MOCS (Rural).
