Hawkesbury Business Meet and Greet 2019

Hawkesbury City Council's first Business Meet and Greet for 2019 was held on Wednesday evening, 3 April at Hawkesbury Showground, thanks to the Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association generously providing the venue for the occasion.

Around 90 local community members and business owners attended the event, with representatives coming from a wide range of businesses and organisations, including Richmond RAAF Base, Hawkesbury Area Local Command, TAFE NSW, Windsor Rotary, Windsor Business Group, YMCA, Western Sydney University, Mad Mob Aboriginal Corporation, Harvey Norman, Redbank Communities, Hawkesbury Hot Rod Club, Hawkesbury Dogs Agility Club, as well as the Mayor of Hawkesbury Councillor Barry Calvert and Council staff.

Speakers on the night talked about their positive experiences of living and working in the Hawkesbury.

Speakers included the Mayor, Council's General Manager Peter Conroy, Council's Director of Planning Linda Perrine, Loxley on Bellbird owner Paul Maher, Chief Inspector Garry Simms, Superintendent Jim Stewart, Hawkesbury Chamber of Commerce executive member Stacey Jenkinson (also Prismatic Productions), President Hawkesbury Chamber of Commerce Kerry Spindler, Harvey Norman McGraths Hill franchisee Luke Hallett and Hawkesbury Citizen of the Year Ross Matheson (also President Hawkesbury District Agricultural Association).

Garry Hudson from Macquarie Towns Hot Rod Club talked with the crowd about the hot rods on show on the night while Hawkesbury Dogs Agility Club members gave an agility demonstration. Junior woodchoppers also gave a lively demonstration of their skills.

Council first began holding Business Meet and Gr Business Meet and Greeteet events in November 2017. The business and community networking events have continued to receive great support and interest, and Council intends to continue the Business Meet and Greet sessions throughout 2019.
