250 Macquarie Street, Hobart

The Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee meeting has approved a planning application for partial change of use to visitor accommodation (five units) for 250 Macquarie Street, Hobart.

The proposal involves converting five approved multiple dwellings into visitor accommodation. Unit 1 will have four bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to eight guests. Unit 2 will have three bedrooms and two bathrooms for up to eight guests. Units 3, 4, and 5 will each have one bedroom and one bathroom, accommodating up to four guests each. Units 2, 3, and 4 will have designated parking spaces accessible from Davey Street, while the basement facing Macquarie Street will remain an office.

Officer level development applications approved between 15 April and 28 April 2025

Between Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee meetings, the City's Planning Officers are busy reviewing a range of residential and commercial development applications for Hobart.

Since the last meeting, 13 development applications delegated to council officers were also approved while 13 development applications are currently being advertised.

A reminder that the Council has a planner on duty during office hours which members of the community can call through our Customer Services to check to see whether any development or work to a garden will require planning approval.
