The Hobart City Council's Planning Authority Committee has approved a development application for partial demolition and alterations to jetty at 11 Marine Terrace, 13 Marine Terrace, Battery Point.
The proposal involves partially removing the existing jetty and replacing it with a new angled structure that reconnects with the current platform. It also includes replacing fencing on Council land between two residential properties.
61-63 Davey Street, 186 Macquarie Street, Hobart, and adjacent road reserve
The Hobart City Council's Planning Authority Committee has approved a development application for demolition, news building for visitor accommodation and hotel industry (bar) and associated works at 61-63 Davey Street, 186 Macquarie Street and adjacent road reserve.
The proposal involves demolishing the existing building allow for the development of a six-storey boutique hotel providing 67 one-bedroom guest rooms, an associated bar and on-site valet parking for up to 38 cars within two basement floor levels. The design features a three-storey podium at the street front with a more traditional look, and a modern six-storey section behind. Infrastructure works will also extend onto neighbouring properties at 186 Macquarie Street and 61 Davey Street.
Officer level development applications approved between 11 October and 27 October 2025
Between Hobart City Council Planning Authority Committee meetings, the City's Planning Officers are busy reviewing a range of residential and commercial development applications for Hobart.
Since the last meeting, 12 development applications delegated to council officers were also approved while 13 development applications are currently being advertised.
