Help break down access barriers

We're looking for a local person with lived experience of disability to help us improve access and inclusion and make Bayside better for everyone.

Expressions of interest to join the Disability Access and Inclusion Advisory Committee are now open until 12 February 2023.

The Committee is formed of 10 community members with lived experience of disability and two elected Councillors. There is currently one vacant position, which brings a great opportunity to further diversify the Committee's representation.

The Advisory Committee meets up to six times a year to help shape proposed projects, discuss challenges and opportunities, and provide advice from a disability perspective. In its first year, the Committee helped to develop Council's Disability Action Plan (2021- 2025) and will continue to work collaboratively with Council to progress disability inclusion with a focus on the following areas: physical and built environment, community participation and employment.

Apply to join online or contact Vimbayi Kagonda, Inclusion Officer, by phone 9599 4871 or email [email protected]
