Help Choose Crib Point Pool's New Mural

The Crib Point Pool mural project is moving into its next stage, and the community is being invited to have its say once again.

Earlier this year, locals shared the stories, themes and ideas they wanted to see reflected in a new mural celebrating the pool. Thank you to everyone who took the time to be part of that first stage!

Using this feedback, a local artist was selected and has now created two mural designs inspired by what the Crib Point community shared. Both concepts reflect the history, spirit and sense of place that make the pool such a well-loved part of local life.

Now it's time for the community to choose. Residents are invited to view the two designs and vote for their preferred option, Concept 1 or Concept 2.

Mornington Peninsula Shire Mayor Anthony Marsh said the project continues to be shaped by the people who know the pool best.

"This mural is being created with the community, not just for it," Cr Marsh said.

"From the very beginning, locals have helped guide this project, and this next stage gives people a real say in how the final artwork will look."

Warringine Councillor Michael Stephens said the pool holds a special place in the Crib Point community, especially since celebrating the pool's 50th anniversary.

"So many of us have memories tied to this place, swimming lessons, hot days, catching up with neighbours," Cr Stephens said.

"Being able to choose the mural design is a lovely way for locals to see those shared experiences reflected on the building itself."

Community members can view both mural concepts and vote online until 8 March by visiting mornpen.vic.gov.au/cribpointpoolmural
