Help form Spotswood and South Kingsville's future

Spotswood and South Kingsville are modern urban suburbs that are loved for their sense of community, parks and ovals, geographic location and their retail, café, and restaurant options.

This is according to the 3,300 responses and 850 ideas gathered from locals during the Spotswood and South Kingsville Better Places project that helped form the draft vision summary.

The draft vision is broken down into four key themes: remembering our past and shaping our future; changing how we move into the future; improving and greening our spaces and places; and enhancing our diverse village lifestyle.

Each theme provides a list of potential projects that will help Spotswood and South Kingsville realise the future vision.

The development of the final Place Guide for Spotswood and South Kingsville is open for community comment between now and Friday 2 April 2021. Feedback will help Council prioritise future projects within these areas.

The Better Places Place Guide and Local Area Movement Plan issues paper will also inform the upcoming Structure Plan for the area.

The Better Places model was a pilot project to create a holistic and integrated approach for designing change by taking on a place-based style of thinking.
