Visitors to Hermit's Cave can now enjoy updated interpretive signage, with Griffith City Council recently replacing a number of dated and worn signs at the popular Scenic Hill attraction.
The upgrade was identified through feedback from Council's Scenic Hill Users Group, which highlighted the need to refresh signage to ensure information remains clear, accessible and reflective of the site's historical and cultural significance.
Hermit's Cave is one of Griffith's most recognised tourism landmarks, attracting visitors from across the region and beyond. The new signage improves the visitor experience while helping to preserve and share the story of Valerio Ricetti and the unique heritage of the site.
Mayor Councillor Doug Curran said Council appreciated the ongoing input provided by the Scenic Hill Users Group.
"The Scenic Hill Users Group plays an important role in helping Council identify opportunities to improve and maintain one of Griffith's most treasured recreational and tourism assets," Councillor Curran said.
"These new signs not only enhance the appearance of Hermit's Cave, but also ensure visitors can continue to learn about and appreciate the remarkable history of this unique destination."
Council thanks the Scenic Hill Users Group for its continued advocacy and support in caring for and improving the Scenic Hill precinct.
