High-range PCA charge for woman after single-vehicle crash - Strathfield

A woman has been charged after allegedly crashing into a pole while more than four times over the legal limit in Strathfield overnight.

Just after 12.30am (Sunday 15 March 2020), officers from Burwood Police Area Command were called to Parramatta Road, near Concord Road, following reports a Volkswagen Tiguan SUV had crashed into a pole.

The driver, a 26-year-old woman, and two female passengers were not injured.

Police will allege the driver returned a positive roadside breath test and she was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station, where she returned a blood-alcohol reading of 0.202.

The woman has now been charged with high-range PCA and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on Monday 20 April 2020.
