High range PCA charge in Bathurst

A man has been charged with high range PCA after an incident at Mount Panorama, in Bathurst, this weekend, NSW Police say.

About 2pm today, police were called to Barry Gurdon Drive, after a 38-year-old man was allegedly driving a Holden Commodore dangerously through a camping ground near Mount Panorama.

It is alleged the man almost ran over a three-year-old child during the incident.

Highway Patrol Officers from Chifley Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted a breath test on the man which returned a positive result.

They arrested the man and took him to Bathurst Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis and returned a reading of 0.169.

He has been charged with drive with high range PCA, drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerously and interfere with person’s enjoyment or risk safety.

The man was given conditional bail and is due to appear at Bathurst Local Court on Monday 13 March 2017.

His licence has been suspended.
