The $1.2 million first stage of Toowoomba Regional Council's (TRC) three-stage Kuhls Road Rehabilitation project at Highfields is open to traffic (from Thursday, December 21, 2023).
TRC Infrastructure Services Committee Chair Cr Carol Taylor said the first stage involved rehabilitating 640m of Kuhls Road between Berghofer Drive and Bunya View Drive.
"Work started in October 2023 on stormwater improvements and the provision of an asphalt pavement on this initial stage of the project for rehabilitating the 1.25km section of Kuhls Road from Cawdor Road to Bunya View Drive," Cr Taylor said.
"Some minor finishing works and final landscaping, including turfing are to be completed in Stage 1 in the New Year.
"This milestone marks 40% of the total project, with stages two and three to be delivered in the first half of 2024, maintaining access to Peacehaven Botanic Park during the project.
