Highlights from Day 3 at CRPD Review

This morning several delegates met with the CRPD member for New Zealand, Robert Martin. Robert has a particular interest in issues around people with intellectual disability.

On Wednesday afternoon we conducted a side event for CRPD committee members and other interested parties, 'Voices of people with disability'. We spoke at length on a number of intersectional issues related to the CRPD. These are outlined in our factsheets available on the DPO Australia website.

At the side event, Uncle Paul Calcott unveiled a painting, 'Mungo Man'. The painting shows that in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, culture is inclusion.

Later in the day all delegates visited the Australian permanent mission in Geneva.

We've been making videos of our experiences here in Geneva and they can be viewed on the DPO Australia website.
