With a rich history spanning more than half a century, the festival has evolved through many forms.
Today, OBF continues to bring together residents, local businesses and community groups to showcase the very best of the Hills.

Experience Echoes - Moon Garden
Nightly, Friday 18 September to Sunday 11 October
Bella Vista Farm
The immersive night-time experience is back with a brand-new theme: Moon Garden.
Presented by The Hills Shire Council in partnership with Dural-based business Laservision, Echoes will once again transform the grounds of Bella Vista Farm into an after-dark destination. Guests can wander through a secret garden that exists between dusk and dawn, brought to life through light installations, immersive displays and special effects.
Come for the lights, stay for the bites! This year's food truck line-up includes:
- Toby's Milkbar serving tasty burgers, loaded fries, sambos and fried chicken
- Gelato Messina scooping their famous flavours and a limited-edition, Orange Blossom Festival-themed mystery flavour
- Teta's Pizza dishing up Mediterranean Street food including gourmet pitta pocket sandwiches, pitta rolls, loaded fries, and flame-grilled BBQ platters
- YouPizza firing up woodfired pizza
- Bar Coco delighting sweet tooths with churros and coffee
- Glow Fairy Floss lighting up the festival with glow in the dark fairy floss, Dutch pancakes, popcorn and snow cones
Meet the PAW Patrol at the OBF Parade

Main Street, Rouse Hill Town Centre
Join us at the OBF Parade at Rouse Hill Town Centre for a celebration of community and family fun.
Cheer on colourful floats, local performers and community groups as they make their way along Main Street before the festivities continue in Market Square.
Enjoy special appearances from PAW Patrol, free face painting, gardening workshops, live dance performances and an OBF-themed photobooth.
A dedicated 'Secret Garden' space will be available for neurodivergent attendees seeking a quiet area to retreat during the event.
With Rouse Hill Metro conveniently located opposite Market Square, it's the perfect day out for the whole family.
Take a Day Trip for Food, Wine and Family Fun at Taste of Wisemans

Wisemans Ferry Park
Devour tasty bites and sample delicious drops from a range of food trucks, wineries and distilleries at our gourmet food and wine event.
Visitors can enjoy live music and entertainment plus a range of FREE family activities, including face painting, circus workshops, craft activities, a petting zoo, pony rides, cookie decorating and gardening workshops.
Bring the whole family to Wisemans Ferry Park to explore and support the Hills Shire's Rural North community.

Run for The Hills

Encouraging families and friends to get active together, Run for the Hills promotes health, wellbeing and community spirit.
Whether you're chasing a personal best, strolling with friends, pushing a pram or taking part in the Family Colour Run, there's something for everyone.
The event also features market stalls, food trucks, coffee carts, face painting, and live entertainment.
OBF Annual Art Awards by Castle Hill Art Society

The OBF Annual Art Awards celebrates creativity and artistic excellence, providing a platform for artists from the Hills and across Sydney to showcase their talent.
This annual exhibition encourages artists to develop their skills through local art classes and opportunities.
Featuring a collection of works in oils, acrylics, watercolours, pastels and drawing, the exhibition offers visitors the chance to discover and purchase artworks while supporting the region's arts community.
Friends of the Hills Library Pop-Up Book Collection and Book Sale

Castle Hill Library
The Friends of The Hills Library Pop-Up Book Sale is an annual community fundraiser that supports The Hills Shire Library Service.
Since 1994, Friends of The Hills Library has raised more than $195,000 to help purchase additional library resources.
The Book Collection Day on 12 September invites residents to donate adult, children and young adult fiction, which will then be available at the Pop-Up Book Sale on 19 September at Castle Hill Library.
These events provide an opportunity to give books a new purpose and support local libraries.
Castle Hill BMX Day

The Castle Hill BMX day offers a fun opportunity for riders of all ages and abilities to experience the thrill of BMX.
Whether you're new to the sport or an experienced rider, participants can get involved and learn new skills.
Kenthurst Fair by the Rotary Club of Kenthurst

Kenthurst Fair features a street parade, live entertainment, rides, market stalls, and food options for all ages to enjoy. The Fair is the largest fundraising activity for Kenthurst Rotary.
Sydney 000 Expo

Castle Hill Showground, Castle Hill
The Emergency Expo is a FREE family-friendly event where you can meet first responders and emergency services and learn about safety awareness.
Visitors can get up close to real emergency equipment, enjoy interactive demonstrations, and watch live emergency response displays.
The event also provides opportunities to learn about careers and volunteering within emergency services. Children aged 16 and under can take part in the Stamp Rally for a chance to win one of 10 prize packs.
Bonsai Society of Australia Annual Show by Bonsai Society of Australia

The Bonsai Society Show has something for everyone, from experienced bonsai enthusiasts to complete beginners.

Jazz at The Pines is a family-friendly outdoor concert featuring live music from the Jive Bombers Jazz Band.
Bring a picnic rug and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment, with the added opportunity to take a FREE tour of the historic Roughley House.
The Hills Community Aid - Spring Family Fun Day

The Hills Young Musicians Contest celebrates young musical talent across the Hills district. The annual event provides musicians with performance experience while helping them develop their skills.
