Wonthaggi's town centre is set for a vibrant transformation with a focus on history. Thanks to funding from the Victorian Government, Graham Street and McBride Avenue will soon be greener, brighter and more welcoming for everyone.
This past week, the first of 24 modular planter boxes was installed along McBride Avenue, and 13 Crepe Myrtle trees are being planted on Graham Street.
Painted in "Manor Red" as a nod to Wonthaggi's mining heritage and the iconic poppet head, these projects will add shade, colour and life to the town centre while creating safer and more enjoyable spaces for people to gather, shop, dine and relax.
