Hit and run traffic crash at Surfers Paradise, QLD

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at Surfers Paradise this morning, Queensland Police say.

Preliminary information suggests around 5.20am a four-wheel-drive travelling along Trickett Street struck a 43-year-old male pedestrian who was on the footpath before leaving the scene.

The man sustained a serious leg injury as a result and was transported to hospital.

Police have released an image of a vehicle believed to be linked to the incident, which is described as a 1993 green and silver Nissan Patrol with QLD registration 011 BXZ.

The vehicle also has a cargo cage fixed to the roof.

Anyone who may have seen the vehicle or know its whereabouts is urged to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.
