Hit and run traffic incident in Tarragindi, QLD

Police are investigating a hit and run traffic incident this afternoon in Tarragindi, Queensland Police say.

Initial information suggests at around 4:20pm, a Road Policing officer was performing a hand-held radar at Bapaume Road and Peronne Road before being hit by the driver of a 1993, silver Honda Civic with a Queensland Registration 390 XOB.

Prior to the incident, the officer recorded the driver travelling at speed and has stepped out on to the road to intercept the driver.

The car has hit the officer at speed, which resulted in him suffering serious injuries.

He was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
