Hit-run collision at Wyndham Vale

Police have arrested a 45–year-old man following a hit-run collision in Wyndham Vale this afternoon, Victoria Police say.

Officers have been told a motorcycle was travelling south towards Werribee on the Princes Highway just after 4pm.

It is believed a silver Toyota Hilux collided with the motorcycle near Forsyth Road causing the rider to fall onto the road way.

The vehicle allegedly failed to stop at the scene and was last seen exiting the highway in Werribee.

The female rider was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The driver, a Wyndham Vale man, was arrested at a Wyndham Vale address just before 6.30pm.

He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are currently on scene investigating.
