Fawkner Highway Patrol members are appealing for witnesses following a hit-run collision involving a pedestrian in Avondale Heights last night, Victoria Police say.
It is believed a 54-year-old woman was crossing the roadway on Canning Street at about 6pm.
A small light-coloured utility was travelling west has struck the woman at low speed, just north of the intersection at Military Road.
Investigators have been told the vehicle continued without slowing down or stopping to assist.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe the vehicle they are seeking will have damage to the left front of the utility and are appealing to any anyone who may have dash camera footage in the area at the time.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
