Hit-run crash at Bridgewater, South Australia

Police are at the scene of a hit-run crash at Bridgewater involving a car and a cyclist.

About 5.35pm today (Sunday 13 January) police and emergency services were called to Mount Barker Road after reports that a car and cyclist had collided, with the male rider taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The car, which is believed to be a white dual-cab ute (possibly an older model Toyota Hilux) with a silver aluminium tray, stopped further down Mount Barker Road and the male driver exited the vehicle, before getting back in and driving away.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 50-65 years old, heavy build, and was wearing a dark grey shirt and shorts.

The ute is missing its left side mirror, which was knocked off in the collsion.

Major Crash investigators are at the scene, and there are road restrictions on Mount Barker Road between Aldgate and Bridgewater.
