Hobart CIB investigating two reports of stolen government vehicles, TAS

Hobart CIB is investigating two reports of stolen government vehicles, Tasmania Police say.

Investigators are currently exploring the possibility that a stolen government vehicle recovered last night, and a stolen government vehicle recovered today may be linked.

Both vehicles were reported stolen during a similar time frame from a government facility in New Town.

The vehicles were fleet vehicles of a type used by a number of government agencies.

A number of people remain in custody in relation to these incidents.

"As it is an ongoing investigation it’s not appropriate to speculate on the nature or number of charges that may arise from these incidents," Detective Acting Inspector Semmens said.

Anyone with information should contact Hobart CIB on 131444 or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
